Start with what each person does

A private driver takes you from the hotel to the agreed drop-off, between towns or appointments, and back again. The work covers the vehicle movements, route, parking and agreed waiting arrangements. This can be all you need for an airport transfer, a business day, a family visit or a return trip to a place you already know.

A licensed tour guide leads the visit at the site: the walking route, the history and the interpretation that connects what you see. Israel’s Ministry of Tourism maintains a public register searchable by name and licence. Use it when checking the person who will guide your party.[1]

The useful choice is between the work your day requires. A guide may add a great deal to an archaeological visit and very little to a series of office appointments. A car may be essential between cities and unnecessary for a short guided walk starting beside your hotel.

Compare the three arrangements

Give RT Tours the main purpose of the day and your preferred language. The team coordinates the guide’s part of the visit with the vehicle, pickup and return. If a guide joins later or finishes before the last stop, that handoff belongs in the same plan. Concierge requests can be discussed with the same team as the itinerary takes shape.

Plan where the walking begins and ends

A day in Jerusalem’s Old City or the lanes of Jaffa includes time away from the vehicle. Agree a practical drop-off and a collection point before starting the walk. They do not have to be the same place, but both must work for the route, the vehicle and the party.

If someone wants a shorter walk, tell the team while planning. We can work through where that person will finish, any accompaniment they need and how the rest of the group will continue. The collection point is chosen to fit the walking route and vehicle access, so everyone knows how the visit ends.

Include luggage in the brief for the walking portion, especially when the day starts or ends at an airport. The team can plan the vehicle and handling arrangements around the actual bags, while you carry what you need for the visit. That connects the airport movement, the walking route and the next destination.

Three illustrative days, with different needs

Jerusalem with two adults and a teenager. Choose the part of the Old City that interests the family, then build the walking visit around it. A licensed guide can connect the places and their history; the driver handles the agreed start and finish. A family returning to familiar places may prefer independent walking with the same transport arrangements. Add a museum only after checking whether the main visit leaves enough time and energy.

A coastal day with grandparents, parents and two children. Start with Caesarea and one possible second stop. Agree how much walking everyone wants and whether a guide will join for the archaeological visit. The vehicle choice must account for the guide, required child seats, stroller and bags. If a shorter route is needed for one person, plan that split explicitly instead of deciding at the entrance.

Meetings in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. A driver can connect the hotel, offices and return journey within the confirmed service window. Send addresses, meeting times and details of colleagues joining along the way. A licensed guide becomes relevant only if you add a guided site visit. Keep that optional visit separate from the appointments that the day must deliver.

These examples show how to divide the work; they are not fixed itineraries. The route, opening arrangements and practical timings are established for the travel date and the people taking part.

Count every passenger, including the guide

RT Tours operates two Mercedes-Benz S-Class, two V-Class and two Sprinter vehicles. Passenger capacities are up to 3, 7 and 16 respectively, excluding the driver. If a guide rides with the party, that person needs a passenger seat too. Three guests and a guide therefore exceed the S-Class passenger limit.

Send the complete luggage list alongside the headcount. Include cabin bags, large cases, a stroller and any other equipment. Passenger capacity does not guarantee space for every combination of bags and child seats. The vehicle and loading arrangement are confirmed for the particular party.

For children, provide their ages and the information needed to confirm suitable seating. Describe practical mobility requirements clearly, including equipment dimensions where relevant and any help needed getting into the vehicle. A good vehicle decision starts with those details, rather than a model chosen from a photograph.

Give each day a main purpose

Choose one essential visit and a second stop that would make the day better. Mark additional ideas as optional. Count time on foot separately from time in the car, and allow for meals and breaks. A list of nearby names on a map is not yet a workable touring day.

Check each venue’s opening and booking requirements for your date, especially around Fridays, Shabbat and holidays.
